All that glitters is not gold ...

You've probably heard the 'fake' stories about the Opening Ceremony of the Beijing Olympics. China has resorted to theatrics and doctoring in order to put on a grand show. Is this faking justifiable in the circumstances? Have your say.

I do not think that it is justifiable . The Opening Cerimony was really amazing and it wolud had been marvelous anyway with the olympic girl singing on the stage. Come on! The world wouldn`t be disappointed to see a seven year-old innocent girl singing beautifully! The Chinese government should be proud of her talent! As a mother of two little girls, I can surely affirm that all children are cute in some way. It is very disgusting to see a prejudice like that happening nowadays!!!!

I think this is merely a reflection of the fake society we live in and the values we live by today. It is unfortunate that people are losing themselves in a world of counterfeit goods, airbrushed photos, forged certificates, fake bodies and virtual relationships!

I tend to think that all this investigation, this "oh let's see... they must have done something wrong" search for fakes is deeply related to envy feelings from everybody else who is not chinese. Look, they did fantastic! the best opening EVER. So what the little girl was actually not singing. I would put a ugly child to sing in such a show! Let us be honest: who would? If it was not big-bad-still-kind-of-communist China no one would even look for any mistakes... I think it was for the sake of the greatness of the opening, so it was ok!

HEY THIS was my first comment here! Maybe i am finally commiting to this!

I strongly believe the Chinrse are a great Nation, who did their best at the Olympics Opening Cerimony. I view all the "fake effects" used at the cerimony, as a display of their insecurity. When we feel insecure, we worrry about other people's judgements. So, that's what they did- they concealed all they considered to be "ugly" in order to show flawless to the world.
